Snow Day Fun With winter upon us, thinking about snow day fun seems a natural thought. Here are a few ideas for you & your kids to do on your next ‘snow day’! Boy/Girl Magic! Have boys? Set up a WII competition Girls? Why not bake up something yummy & eat picnic style in the family room! Fort anyone?   Get everyone involved and make furniture cushion forts like you did when you were little. Grab blankets, throws and pillows too… & watch the fun happen Game it! Stuff socks into balls and set up baskets or paper bags on your living room floor. Whoever gets the most socks in wins. Treasure Hunt Time. Hide things throughout your home, then post clues for your kids to find them. These are just few ideas you can try on your next ‘snow day’. Tell us what you like to do on a snow day. A beautiful Thursday Morning here at 9494 Ft! Gotta love the mountain air before a storm blows in! Waiting to see if much comes out of this storm, Not sure if we are in for a blizzard or a dusting... Gotta love Colorado weather! However, we have everything prepared in case it is a big one so feeding the cattle will be done with ease, I can work from the house and by the fire place so I don't have to try and drive with the snow plows. Over all I am more excited to get some moisture in the ground! We need it fire dangers are high here and there have been a few small fires already this year. With the warmer months coming I am hoping that the people who come to enjoy our little slice of heaven are smart about fires and we avoid another big one. Hope everyone has a wonderful day today! Well today we wake up to sunny skies and around 8 inches of wet, heavy snow on the ground. It is May and this type of thing in not uncommon here. What is uncommon is getting the phone call that my father has gotten stuck in his driveway. Now granted he got way more snow than I did and he is only two miles away. I know the snow will melt quickly and we are in desperate need of the moisture but, I really wish, hope, and pray that one day we would get a break! We are entering the flood season which can be detrimental to the local economy since tourist will not come up as often or avoid us all together for fear of being stranded. Plus I have cows I need to bring home but it is to muddy to get them out of winter pasture. So for now I will keep the fire going and bake.... maybe Christmas cookies?
